Which vdst kit?
I have a 2010 evo sp and since my closest dealer is about 450km away I will be getting the first service done at the local harley dealer so I will need a vdst to reset the service light myself. Problem is I have no clue as to which ecu I have and most vdst kits I've looked at are specific to certain ecu's. Can anyone let me know the exact kit I need? Thanks

You don't need one to reset your ECU, it resets everytime you turn on your key. You have the Siemens, the VDSTS' are for MM ECUs.

So only the dealer can reset the service light on the 2010?

Can anyone give me a definite answer on resetting the service light on a 2010 sp? The manual states that the light will stay on until the dealer resets it but I would think there has to be a way to do this without going to the dealer.

Pretty sure only dealer can reset wrench. On earlier models, which require VDST software to reset TPS, you can also use the VDST to reset maintenance wrench.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully someone comes up with something that can interface with the new ecu in the near future

I just ignored my "little wrench" for about a thousand miles before I rented a VDSTS from a forum member. It will be popping up here again soon enough when I hit the 7500 mile mark. I may just have to ignor it then too.

This diagnostic system is free, you have to buy the cables though. It is frankly amazing. ducatidiag :: Connexion I got cables off amazon for about $40 total. (Diagnostic cable and adaptor for Ducati.) Also has a system for the older ECU's including P8.
Allowed me to reset TPS and adjust CO, my bike runs great now.
Also clears the wrench.
