Tire Choices, Can you guys help?
Last week I finally got the Hyper out of the shop. I did the exhaust, velocity stacks and painted the fairings. I had to take it to the dealer for the tps reset and tune the DP Ecu, then I swore I would just ride her for the rest of the season and stop putting $$$ into her.
So I was out riding yesterday and while stopped for a rest at a park I noticed a nail in my rear tire It looks like its been there for a while and my buddy said he has friends that have ridden with up to 8 nails in the tire.
Anyway I need some advise on tire. I was looking at the Pilot Pure, but after reading some reviews it seems to have an aggressive mid lean that makes the bike feel like its falling into the corner. I pretty much only ride on the street and don't want that falling feeling. I like the idea of a dual compound tire with the stickier sides and harder center. The next two tires I am thinking about at the Battlax BT-003 and the Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3.
Also is it necessary to chance the front tire out as well? It my first time changing out tires on a bike like this and I'm not sure how it would ride with two different tires.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me!
Brett

I had Michelin Pilot Powers on mine. They're great. I never felt like they were falling into corners. Very stable and I got at least 5,000 miles out of them. I have them on my DR-Z400SM as well.

I would change them together just for consistency and my own peace of mind
I have the Pilot Power 2CT on front and rear and like them very much. Very stable and grip well.
This is my first set so I'm not sure where I'll end with mileage

Do you experience the falling feeling in a moderate turn? I have read a few reviews of that. I like to think that most of my turns are moderate and didn't want to worry about that.
Thanks!

I have not. I was also hesitate of trying regular pilot powers because of their aggressive profile. They were recommended to me many many times before I caved and bought the pures. I can happily say I am a convert. Much more confidence inspiring than the Diablo III's. The pirelli's if anything felt alittle sketchy to me. Seemed alittle too high performance for me unless you warmed them up properly, which we all know is sometimes impossible on weekend rides with sunday drivers...

Dunlap Q2's are great tires for the street & track. They also have a nice profile and "turn in" smoothly. Aloha Alex

Great indeed, if you dont mind changing them every 2000 miles.
