Finally pulled the trigger on the sp!
Well I finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 evo sp in corse white. The dealer had one that wasnt even out of the crate yet from last season. I need to wait a few weeks until I can go pick it up as the dealer is a 6 hour drive away and I need to get finished a work project first but it definitley feels like I'm waiting for christmas...lol. Just wondering if there is anything I should be watching closely for the first while or just the standard stuff as with any new machine? Anyways I cant wait to pick it up and let the modding begin.

Run it in hard... Ducshop stacks/K&N filters should be Your first mod. Have fun, & try to keep the rubber side down!

Don't think I'll have an issue with the rubber side down, although I can already see a few tickets for being on one rubber! I was looking at stacks but I also want the big tank from ca cycleworks and from what ive read the big tank eliminates the option for airbox upgrades. I did see the preorder for the mid size tank but I'm not sure if the range would cut it either. Anyone see any other options in the near future as far as breather upgrades that will work with the big tank?

I carry one of
& as the cliché goes... something's gotta give. I'd rather have stacks than a big tank.

the range really isn't that bad while touring. You can go about 120-130 miles while stock on a tank. You will need to stop at that point for a crotch brake anyway. Congrats on the sp, that white looks even better in person.

Hi Jenner. Congrats on the SP purchase. You're gonna love it.
As far as the size/range of the MidSized-Performance tank, Freezer is right, stock, I get at least 100+ miles before the fuel light comes on. That is with typical riding, hooligan-ish and fast running on these damn straight AZ roads. With the MS-P tank, it should be around 4.5 to 5 gallons vs. the stock tank's 3.3 gallons. So even if it is 4.5, that's 1.2 gallons more than stock and even with the most aggressive ECU programming, you should still get 120+ miles on the tank with the same hooligan-ish riding, more if you aren't running the higher speeds that I'm forced to. 120 miles is the typical range for pretty much every sportbike.
Even if you got the CACycleworks 6.4 gallon tank, EVERY other person that you rode with would have to stop before you anyway, so what's the point?
If you sign up for the MS-P tank right now, you get a $100 discount from full retail and the more people that sign up, the better the chance that the retail price will be even lower. So really, you can't lose.
Welcome to the club.
Dave

I personally think the brakes are good on the Hyper. No sense being so hard on your boys!

Man, those crotch brakes are pretty hard core sounding. I have never actually used one but I would have to guess that it works by jamming your boys onto the front wheel, just before the fender for maximum effect.
Sounds like something a woman designed......

I don't know if anyone remembers jamming your keds on the back tire as brakes on your BMX bike as kids? The boys don't work quite as well, but you get style points!
I meant crotch break! My monkey butt needs rest after 100 highway miles!

Yesterday i just rode 600km on my motard in a day. I am surprised by her touring capability though. I maintained 150kph and was receiving fuel consumption of 20km per litre instead. I stopped at at every 160km mark 4 times. The reserve light didnt light up at all
I am running on duc performance ecu and termi slip on.
Impressive bike!
