Grips for Hyper

Hi folks
Have had a look through previous posts but can't quite find the answer to this one.
I just bought some progrips to change out the standard ones on my '08 1100s but seem to have seen someone saying normal grips won't fit straight off. Any truth to this before I start taking things to bits or is it just a straight swap?
Thanks!
Hamish

The throttle tube has little tabs on it that slide into notches in the stock throttle grip. All you have to do is file those little tabs off.

Perfect, I am installing new grips along with first oil change this week! Just picked up a set of Driven D-3 grips. Looks like a rizoma rip off to me, but I had store credit! They seem like nice quality.

Bought the same ones & filed the tabs off. Throttle side was tight as a mofo, had to use a ton of hair spray & elbow grease to slide on. After much cursing, pushing, twisting, etc. did get it though. Good luck.

acually like the driven ones better than rizoma... better design..they jus have billet collars with a molded rubber middle..rather than a full billet grip with a rubber sleeve over it..jus my 2cents since ive had both...

I am using the standard rubber Progrips and I did not file anything down to use them.

I just got mine on last night. Super easy to get on, used hairspray. The clutch side where the large metal collar meets the grip has a small gap I could not make go away no matter how hard I tried. This bugs me a little, wondering if all of them are like this.
