Opinion on front and rear fenders (tire hugger)

Hey I have a question for those of you who got the carbon fiber front and rear fenders for your hyper. First off is it worth it, like do they serve an actual purpose? Second for those of you that have them and recommend them where did you get them from. Thanks in advance.

I have the DP carbon rear hugger. I think it is the best looking rear hugger. (shape wise). It is pricey though and not the best carbon out there.
I bought it mainly to protect the rear shock.

I may be in the minority, but I don't care for the look of rear huggers on the Hyper. Still I didn't want the shock getting sand blasted by road grime so I went the shock sock route. Super cheap and doesn't look all that bad either.

I went with shiftec. It is very nice. I was actually looking for a cheap fiberglass black one just to keep rocks and crap off of the shock. You could find them all over ebay for every other bike I've owned. Not this bike, you are forced to get $400 carbon fiber. I am with Ric, I didn't want to spend so much money just to keep rocks off of my my shock.

I like the way the shift tech looks. How much did it cost you?

I got told by my mechanic that I should buy one and put there cause it will prevent some of the road dirt from getting into the area under the seat.

So I got the pricey DP one, and it does do it's job, alot cleaner under my seat now

I forget what I paid, it's been a few years now. I want to say $350 or so. They are a sponsor of this website and they may offer a discount.

I got the Shift-Tech one too.
Great quality, very light product and Guido is great to deal with. Highly recommend his stuff, unless you want to go the cheap way, in which case ECC got the best prices.

Any chance you know the size of the shock cover ?
Traxxion has 6, 7 and 8 inches listed.
