If you just need to remove a wheel, service brakes, etc then go for the under fork style. If you anticipate needing to remove the forks at some point then go for the under triple style. Or, just get both and be prepared for whatever

Does the triple clamp style hinder work on the wheel?

Not at all, it's just a larger stand setup that many people don't find the need to spend the extra money on. Ultimately it will have more usefulness than an under-fork only type stand. I believe many don't buy one since it's a bit more cumbersome and costs more.
Many people just save $ and get the under fork stand, then use a jack and some straps from the rafters if they ever need to remove the forks.

I found a folding (for storage) triple clamp stand on Ebay, Lockhard Phillips.
Around $100 shipped!

Good deal. Just make sure you have the rear already up on a stand before putting it up on the front stand. Also, the first time have a friend spot you while you get used to the feel of it.

Pitbull rear and Woodcraft stem front for me. I use the rear all the time the front not as often, works fine and is reasonably priced, three years ago anyway. Go the stem way, you will wish you had if ya don't regardless of make. Freight was a little steep as I remember as it was shipped assembled and considered oversized/bulky or something by UPS but so it goes.

I have a pitbull with pins for all of my bikes. It usually is under my track bike, but I use it for the hyper when I need to remove the forks. Otherwise the bike stays in a roll-in harbor freight version of a condor stand.

I have a T-Rex front stand that converts between the triple tree pin type, and the fork lift type. It's quite handy as it happens to work well for several of my bikes. The pin is also replaceable, so just using a different size pin makes it a viable lift for multiple bikes.
