Will i be true to my 796 ? No!!
Because i traded and just left my dealer riding my new 1100 evo !! What a blast and what a difference. Handling, braking and gearbox are all a smoother experience, and the bike SEEMS honestly lighter. The extra torq and power makes the whole thing a masterpiece of concept and realisation.

Isnt the 796 about 30pounds lighter and whats the difference in the gear box of the 1100 that makes it smoother than the 796.

796 is only 11 pounds (5 kilos) lighter. The way 1100 is suspended with higher grade fork and shock, makes cornering so much more agile and secure. Front brake is much more progressive (scary non progressive grip on 796). The instant tork avoids having to push to the limit to get that... feeling. Nonetheless i really did enjoy 796, but i think i would have a hard time going back.

I may follow suit. My 796 is a gas guzzling slow poke. What should be a five minute ride to the store takes an hour and a quarter tank of gas every time.
