NYC dealer Corsa Motorsports closure
In sept '10 I ordered and paid for [$316.79] a LH handguard and Mirror adaptors from Corsa Mototsports and was asked to come back in 3/4 weeks. When I got there I found them closed with a sign that they would be back after a few days. A month and several visits later the same sign stayed up.Their telephone was also disconnected . Mails to them elicted no reply. I sent a mail via Motorcyles.com to Ducati and recieved no response. Yesterday I sent a contact form to Ducati IT and got a call back in 5 mins. also recieved a mail asking for some bike details which I promptly sent them only to recieve this reply---
Thank you for contacting Ducati North America.
We are sorry to learn that you didn’t receive parts that you paid for through Ducati New York. Each Dealership is an Independent Franchisee and is responsible for the manner in which they conduct day to day operations. We never like to see a Ducati franchise have to close its doors.
The parts purchase that you made was a business agreement between yourself and the dealership and unfortunately we have no way to assist you in obtaining those parts. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and hope that you continue to remain a Ducati enthusiast.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us or an Authorized Ducati Dealership. To find an Authorized Ducati Dealership, please visit Ducati - Bikes, Equipment, Accessories, Racing, Company, Dealer - Official Site Ducati and click on "DEALERS" or utilize our dealer locator by phoning 1-800-231-6696.
Regards,
Customer Service

Any suggestions as to what I should do next to get my parts.

Ouch.....
I would start searching for the owner's name and any other contacts that could possibly lead you to information on who to contact to get your money back.
Good Luck,
Dave

First, I am sorry to hear about your problem.
Second, I find it slightly funny/ironic that someone from India got scammed in the US. I say this as I was awoken today by a know Indian scam call from 203-322-9876.

It's a spoofed number and does actually originate from outside the US. If you call it back it's not a working number.
These days anytime I get a call anywhere but at work I don't answer it if i don't know the number. If they want me and it's legitimate they'll leave a message.
And oh yeah, it's a total shame that someone from anywhere got scammed although I'm not sure scammed is the right word. The dealership may have had the best of intentions and screwed up, screwing the customer in the process. Along a similar line there was a local dealer here who heavily sold pre-paid service at a discount only to go out of business.

Damn, that sucks. I had friends who worked at that shop though so I can reach out and see any advice they might have.

i noticed in your post it said you went by a couple of times so you must be local to the dealer, your going to have to look up there DBA with the county and get the owners info and take them to small claims court. i dont think they scammed you out right ,just some businesses have hard times and cant keep the doors open and go under.the sad part is your going to have to do some work to get your money back and that sucks

Yea +1 on this. I think you can dispute this with your CC company and tell them you never received the item and the company went out of business.
