Adjust clutch lever

How do you adjust the clutch lever? I'm having a hard time trying to hit neutral. Do you turn that dial?

thanks

Try bleeding the system, the dial is for lever comfort/feel Aloha Alex

Like Alex said, a good bleed is the first step. You can do this by pumping and opening the bleed valve (lots of good threads on this and other forums). Then once you are done with that adjust the clutch lever to the max out position, then zip tie the lever back to the handlebar and let it sit overnight or a day or so. It will get rid of the little bubbles.

Other things that help are adjusting the tension on the pressure plate springs, but if you haven't swapped the stock clutch out you might not see the benefit. When I swapped mine out, I noticed just a little too much tension made the clutch performance real bad. The springs seem to be very sensitve to just a minor turn in the screw head.

Out!

Hey Axe, only HD springs or a taller clutch pack should increase the tension on the clutch, the small clutch spring screws should be TQ to factory spec. & ALL the way down, or something may be wrong. Aloha Alex

I can't recall the torque spec on the springs off hand, but it was really low, maybe like 5-6lb/ft or Nm something like that. I torqued mine during the plate install, then backed them up a little to get them dialed in. Anyway, they have been that way for about 3 years now and my clutch is pretty good. I have an MPL clutch slave and although it makes the pull easier, it did make neutral harder to find, but it is not what I consider difficult. I rarely miss it.

Out!

Just be careful, even thou the clutch spring bolts are spring loaded, they can work loose, and cause some damage, so I would TQ them down to factory spec.

If you want to find neutral a little easier, try replacing 1 metal plate that is thinner than a existing one. Aloha Alex
