Hypermotard 1100EVO vs Dorsoduro 1200ABS
I am very confused about making a decision between these two models :
Ducati Hypermotard 1100EVO: Ducati Hypermotard 1100 evo - Ducati
Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200ABS: Aprilia
Dorsoduros come with ABS, Traction Control, three riding modes. Both bikes come with Brembo breaks, and they both have decent front and rear suspension.
Aprilia offers so sweet features which are not available for Hypermotard (only for new Multistrada). However Ducati is a well established brand, their bikes' design is very cool and Aprilia is in disadvantage for this point.
So based on your experience, what aspects should convey me to possess a Hyper instead of Dorsoduro?
Tks!

I like the looks of the Dorsoduro but have absolutely no experiance with them. I have sat on them before though. Personally I think the HM is more comfortable and chances are you probably have more aftermarket options with the Ducati. Are the brakes the same, aside of the name Brembo I know the HM S model comes with monoblocks, does the Aprilia you're looking at come with mono blocks, what about the wheels are they cast or forged, these are things to consider.

The dorsduro has way more grunt 130 hp compare to 95 hp of the hyper. It is a lot heavier. I think both bikes are naked that look like supermoto ones. Aprilia is a better bike, it is safer to compare it against the streetfighter.
If you want more grunt go for the dorsoduro, but if you want the diesel jeans of bikes go for the duc.

dorsduro is alot heavier and looks really ugly if compared to Ducati .
ducati is more huligan than Dorsduro who is more an sport tourer .
dorsduro is a very good bike and it depends what you are gonna use if for who is best for ya .
There is a little test at youtube by mcn ..

got a chance to ride the ape 1200 a week ago very nice machine..very tall and more of a dirtbike feel..depends on what you want..the ducati is way more of a streetbike..being my hypers engine is heavily modded my hyper felt alot more angry and more pull..just my thoughts...and aprillas do depreciate quicker than ducs and are also hard to find aftermarket acessories for..and i believe theres not too much of anything for this model and or both sizes..never the less it is a well made machine!

Aprillia makes some awesome bikes. That being said I wouldn't own one (again). It kills me how the bike rags rave about them but you have to ask the $1,000,000.00 question. Where the Hell are you going to find a Dealer. Look them up in your area. There are only a couple in Fla, the rest just sell scooters If you live close to a GOOD one and you want to take a chance on them not dumping the brand, then I say go for it. I also say good luck with it. I'm not bitter, just smarter.

There are as many opinions about Aprilia vs Ducati as riders around the world...
I've just went through this post on the forum Ducati HM vs. Aprilia Dorsoduro and found that almost everyone is concerned about after-sale support, and particularly about parts' supply. HOWEVER, all those posts were done in 2009 and all about DD750. Did things change for Aprilia for the last 1.5 years?
I also found that my topic is not new at all, people were in debate about HM vs DD before
Can't Decide MS vs Dorso
Aprilia Competition for the SF and HM combined?

The only thing thats changed in my area since 2009 is we have a few more Ape scooter dealers and the only local shop is out of business. 2 1/2 hours south or five hours north are the only options for Ape.
Again I say do your homework. Don,t buy A MC unless you have a GOOD local dealer or you can afford to travel.
