Complete plug n play hid with housing
So I know its kinda been talked about in the past and I couldn't find a definite answer and was wondering if anyone has made a PLUG AND PLAY HID kit for our HM. I just don't want to mess around with modifying anything and playing around with wires and finding places to attach ballasts. I recently helped a friend install a slim ballast kit on his suzuki and put a kit on my girls car and honestly wasn't happy with the all the crap I had to go through. I just wanna remove the damn headlamp and put in a new one, am I asking for too much? I hope not lol.

Then that's what you're gonna have to do, because HID requires a ballast to fire it up. Even offroad lights with built-in ballasts have them mounted separately in the housings wired to the bulbs.

Well I just dont want to have to modify housings and have to cut wires n stuff. I would pay the extra to have a tidy kit where some of the components are built into the housing.

The only thing you would have to modify is the cap that covers the back of the bulb. You have to drill a hole in it just offset of center. A replacement cap, should you decide to put it back to stock, is only like $10.
The rest is almost plug and play as you have to take apart one of the connectors in order to switch the connector type to the one used with the HID set-up. That takes all of 90 seconds using a really small (jewelers) screwdriver to release the pins out of the stock connector.
THEN, it's plug and play. You still have to decide where to put the ballast and the hi/lo beam switch box.
Piece of cake really.....

I can also recommend a replacement bulb that I run in my truck. They are the Silverstar Ultras. They are spendy at around $40 a pair, but you will get a lot more pure white light. They are especially great when on high in the country.
I run the HIDs in my offroad rigs and they are great, but they ar definitely a PIA to connect everything. I personally thing the only way to do them correctly is to put in a fuse block with a relay right off the battery. There is a lot of amps drawn to power up those ballasts to make the light fire. You can do otherwise, but may not get the best results.
Out!

Yes I want a unit that has that has most of the components attached to the rear or within the housing but my main concern is having to modify the housing and wiring. I did my buddies lights on his gsxr and it needed a little modification of the housing to fit the bulb and it seems like there is condensation in the damn thing. I also did my girlfriends headlights and fog lights and needed to mess around with some relay to the battery cuz the amps (lights kept flickering) and I dont want to run into these issues. I was hoping the I could buy a unit take out my whole headlight put in a new headlight and plug it in. I think im going to try the piaa xtreme white plus just for the look of the bright white for now till I can find a true plug and play unit if its possible.

Well got these today. We will see how they look. I decided not to get an HID kit and not to wait for any word on a complete plug n play housing. Will take pics of before and after if anyone is interested to see. When i decide not to be lazy and they snow and ice goes away.
