rotella 5-40 syn..has anybody used?
has anybody used 5/40 syn shell rotella in their hypers?been using mobil 4t syn 10/40 since 08..jus wondern..u can get a gallon at walmart for $13.00...

I'v heard nothing but good about this oil, from (Bob is the oil guy forum) and its now a JASO MA rated oil, if I did nothing but street riding I would use this oil, but since I do trackdays and have a heavily modded motor, I use Redline 20w50. (Better basestock) Aloha Alex

yea i hear ya alex..have similar mods to my engine like yours but since i have my 08 r1 and 08 1098s ive been using them for track days and been using the hyper for the streets due to lean angle scraping at the track..even got a scrape on my exhaust...  also been using the redline 20/50 in 1098 since i saw your posts..lol cant never be too cautious..

Haha! me too, my front pipe will have to be replaced or repaired soon as its now "paper thin" at the scrape that is about 12" long!  Aloha Alex

I have not used it yet, but after researching it, I have decide to use it for my next oil change.Have a gallon waiting in my garage.

disgo duc I've used shell rotella syn in both my S4rs & ST3S both have ouer 30k on them no problems!!

I thought everyone was saying that we had to use a 15/50 or 15/40??
Not that it matters, stryder should be by any time now......

Apologies for the non-Ducati reference, but I've run this oil 40K miles in my Triumph Daytona 955i. Can't remember where I originally saw the write-up, but some oily dude wrote a very convincing case as to why it was an excellent option at a most excellent price. I just purchased a new HM and was planning on sticking with it. Also, my local Wally World got wise to the price a couple of years ago and jacked it up to around $20/gal...still a good deal though.

thanx guys for all your input..putn it in tomorrow..our walmart had it for $13.00 so i bought 10 of em which doesnt last long w/3 bikes that are ridden regulary..
