Setting rear preload/sag help

I am trying to set the rear sag on my Hyper S. Currently the rear has about 0mm sag and the spring preload collers are about 45mm down the threaded shock body. The owners manual says the spring preload should be 19mm (and I figure I want about 35mm sag). Is that 19mm figure after the spring has made contact with the adjusters backed all the way off or does that mean I should have 19mm of thread on the shock body showing? The parts look untouched but it has me baffled if the bike left the factory with a stiff rear end or did the prev owner just get nutty with the settings.

Set the rear sag to aprox 45mm (you on the bike) for street riding, and 35 to 40mm when you do a trackday, that is the right way for your weight, don't worry how many threads show up on the shock body. Aloha Alex

Ok I figured I ride 2 up on occasion so I didn't want it to be too soft. Also I don't mind a slightly firm ride. I would assume since the ride height adjuster looks untampered with I should leave it alone, but what would be the stock setting or would it be worth fiddling with for street use

Sag is more important, if you do not need ground clearance you can leave the link alone. Aloha Alex
