Hyper´s fuel-tank leaks!

Hi there,

a buddy came up with a strange thing: His Hyper´s fuel-tank is leaking. At the tank´s end where the battery and several cables are routed (I think even one ignition coil is located there), you can see a "hole" of app. 5 mm. At my bike, I´ve found the same situation, fuel is pouring out at the molded, metallic "hole":


Does anyone of you know, why the tank leaks there an why the tank has a this "hole" there?

Does that hole serve as the drainage purpose for overfilled fuel?
