Changing one end OR the other will change the attitude of the bike. The way it turns in, the way it finishes a turn, the way it handles throttle/brakes, and even the way it handles bumps.
If you are comfortable with the handling of your bike (at least for now) I would try a lower seat to try to correct the riding "on" vs. riding "in" feeling. Getting lower "in" the bike is the only way to truely combat that feeling.
An alternative, and one that I used, is to raise the bars higher in relation to the seat. this will give you a similar feeling of being more "in" the bike but not quite as much as a lower seat will. FTR, I have the DP Race seat and a Scotts Damper with the sub-mount which raised the handlebars by about 20mm.
Once you get the bike to "feel" the way you want it, then, and only then, is the best time to work on the bike's attitude.
