Crap service--Options now?
So took my bike to have some different parts taken off & powder coated. After two weeks ( ) & lots of miscommunication finally got bike back. Have had it back a little over two weeks & just got around to a serious detail job on it & noticed scratches all over my forks evidently from removing the triple clamps, scratches all over the frame from the pipe removal, lots of little things like that here & there. I know it's probably too late but I just thought I'd get some opinions on whether I should even attempt to get it rectified. I was overly eager upon getting the bike back & therefore didn't look it over nearly as close as I should have.
On the miscommunication issue I mentioned above I kept getting a "I'm really eating a lot of money on this deal." etc reasoning after I questioned him on the delays & some details that weren't complete the when I went to check on the progress of the bike.
I partly feel like sucking it up as I'm a little leery of taking it back to this shop but at the same time, for what I paid for the work... Any ideas? Thanks for reading this book...

Sounds like he knew he f'ed it up and was covering himself by saying he was eating money on the deal. I would be hesitant to go back but you will be eating what you spent by going someplace else. Tough decision

Walk away and chalk it up to needing to do your own work on stuff like this.

IMO, if you will be taking the bike back there for future work or services you may not want to screw up the relationship, however if this is not the case, you have nothing to lose by asking for a little compensation or discount maybe for future work etc. However you do it, be nice.
Kinda related: I took the wife's car in for some work at the local stealer, they done the work but ended up scratching the rear of the car rather badly, I called andthen took it back and they were most apologetic and had the rear bumper resprayed in 2 days at zero cost, looks like new again. I told them I knew it was an accident and was super nice about it, they couldn't have been more helpful.

You brought your bike there.. it wasn't scratched. You got it back it was. Should be how it was when you dropped it off + what you paid for. End of story.

Get your money back at a minimum. I would file a claim in small claims court if they don't. You would at least get something back. That sounds like crappy work and they did more damage than help. The finish on that frame and forks is worth a hell of a lot more than the powedercoating will ever be.
Out!

I'm curious, did you take it to a dealer or to some generic shop? There are tons of 'motorcycle shops' out there.
I would not allow the vast majority of them to work on my lawnmower, let alone my bikes.
The 'I'm eating a lot of $ on this deal' thing reads to me like 'I'm an unqualified amateur who bit more than he can chew'...
My 02: Chuckracer got it right, walk away, unqualified slobs don't turn detail oriented, that just doesn't happen.
Ask for a refund if you like, take the matter to small claims court if you want but don't bring the bike back there.
