Error IMMO 37.1

Go to start up the bike today and after hearing the fuel pump prime, no response from the starter button other than shutting off the head light.

Cycling through the dash I get to the error IMMO 37.1

Did my research online and this is an error from the immobilizer [security] function. As a separate test I entered the key card code and the bike fired up almost instantly. [the pleasures of a warm garage]

As an attempt to fix this I wiped down the immobilizer antenna [surrounding the key] and also unplugged and replugged the connectors to ensure a good fit. Still no luck starting without the key card code.

I have since taken it to the dealer to get fully diagnosed and resolved and will let you know the solution and cost when I get it.

I get a CEL relating to the immobilizer about once a week, I cycle the key again, failing that, I remove and insert again for a start.

I had done a cycle - jump up and down - key out / key in - bump start attempt - go in and have a glass of water and try Key #2 - jump up and down - etc.

I wasn't as lucky.

So after 3.5 hours of dealer labor:

- The previous owner who installed the ECU did not properly ground it. Thankfully the ECU is still fine.

- Also - the connector into the back of the dash was semi-loose causing other strange errors.

Error resolved.
