Oil cooler guard in slow traffic

Has anyone installed a oil cooler guard on their HM? A couple of examples here:

DUCATI HYPERMOTARD, OIL COOLER GRILL/GUARD.evotech - eBay (item 290536479662 end time Mar-21-11 16:42:27 PDT)
Ducati Hypermotard Oil Cooler Guard By Cox Racing Group

My concern before buying one is how it affects oil temp when ytou're in stop and go traffic in summer heat. In my mind, they have the possibility of making things hotter than without.

TIA

$80 for a metal screen. It looks like a paint roller screen to put in a 5 gallon bucket. I should try to make something.

I made one. I went to staples and bought a "black" $10 mesh garbage can. You can also add to the ends some of those edge car door protectors the ones that prevent from denting/scratching other cars when opening ur door if it happens to hit the car next to you. I then tied it up with safty wire and painted the wire black. Ive always used it on my track bikes and never had an issue. There is no way in hell im paying $80 bucks for a metal sheet
It looks real good, so good that my friends thought that I bought it when they saw it

I'd like to see some pics of this. Maybe we could organize a Staples trash can group buy

headin to staple tomorrow. those pics would be very appreciated. Do you think I could make two out of one can? One for the track bike and one for the hyper. I actually did have to end a track day early because my fork bottomed out pushing my wheel into my bodywork into my radiator.

$100 later for a new/used radiator and a missed track day. A trashcan would've saved my butt on that one.

I dont think you can get 2, not to sure. I cut extra just in case I needed more around the edges or if any mis calculations, I think thats why I couldnt get 2 outta one trash can. Im on my way to the garage now and will post some pics in 2-3 hours, maybe sooner.

Super cool! Without the closeups, you'd never know it wasn't stock or aftermarket. Nice job.

Ooooh, my office trashcan is made out of the same stuff. Might be disappearing from under the desk soon
