Beast, Beast-R, Velocity stacks?
The TPO website states the only difference between the Beast and Beast-R is the powerband is moved up to higher RPMs.
Their website states that the Beast-R has only minimal gains at low RPM, whereas the Beast has moderate gains at low RPMs.
Anyone moved from the Beast to the Beast-R stacks?
Anyone switch from the Velocity to the Beast or visa-versa?
From their website:
Q: What is the difference between the regular BEAST Kit and the BEAST-R?
A: The BEAST-R Kit includes different velocity stacks than the original kit. These stacks are optimized for top-end power. It also includes larger K&N air filters than the standard kit.
Q: What do you mean by "optimized for top-end power"? How is this different from the standard kit?
A: The original BEAST Kit is designed to deliver performance gains over the entire RPM range of your engine. The original BEAST Kit will provide power gains everywhere from idle up to redline. On the other hand, the BEAST-R Kit is designed for maximum top-end power. It does not deliver any additional power in the lower RPM ranges. However, the BEAST-R works even better than the standard kit at high RPM.
Here is a simple chart explaining the differences:
Basically, the BEAST-R Kit trades off low RPM power gains for a bigger peak gain at high RPM.
Heres the FAQs:

are you asking a question?
my guess from my old carb days is the beast R kit it longer stacks.from what i remember longer ones move the power band up higher for higher reving motors, and shorter ones give more low end power but not so much up top.always a trade off
same thing on a cars intake track, like in old v8's
you would match it to how you built the motor and what type of cams you ran

Agreed, hoping for the seat of the pants reference.
Im not racing anymore.
Would love to have power up top though, but not if it TOTALLY flattens out the bottom.
If the loss at the bottom isnt substantial but the gains at the top are then....
Id move to the Beast-R.

You have 4 options
Beast
Beast R
Hyper stacks
MWR
Ducshop Hyperstacks
or
mwr ducati hypermotard sportclassic high efficiency air filter kit
All of these kits are well made and work great. I have the ducshop one.

Has anyone tried the MWR filter kit? If so what do you think of it?
