Cat Eliminator concensus?
I have a Hyper 796 and have read lots of threads on the 796 Leo Vince Cat eliminator pipes, some love them, some struggle with backfiring. Is there any consensus on these? Can they perform well with the stock ECU and cans? Is there a better combo? Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the forum .
I think all will agree ,The removing the cat allowes the engine to breath/relax and the sound is awesome. I think all will also agree the backfiring is annoying. The Memjet($200) does help noticably but the DP ECU does a much better job (for a ton of $$). Also the low RPMs still suck because of the Lambdas. A third solution just recently availabe , is to reflash ($250) the stock ECU. This is supposed to fatten the mix and turn the Lambdas OFF I just sent mine off to be done and will report the results on the Forum next week sometime.
Hang in there.

I certainly agree with MrMike ..... the cat Must Go. Search in this forum for my pics/sound bytes on my cat/lv job.
Mike.... I am looking forward with your ecu reflash report .... Anthony @ desmoworks said they only had 1 map for my 796 - slip ons and with cat still in there.
Please post who, what, where and how she goes on the reflash job.
Good luck and enjoy that wonderful ducati.

Chris Schimmelschmidt was very helpfull. He put me in touch with Redline Performance Motorsports, Inc - (757) 989-5000 :: Home
Redline has the Rexxer software to make their own maps.
David Lillard , President of Redline, said he would eliminate the 02s and make it run good. 1 day turn around.
I will let you-all Know how it turns out
