Dunlop D616 Tires

I was at the NY IMS yesterday and asked a Dunlop rep about dual sport tires for the Hyper. I was surpised that there is such a tire. He suggested the D616, they were made for the Buell Ulysses. The sizes are right on for the Hyper. Anyone ever use them?
I think I might get a set to try.

I don't think I would call this a dual sport tire. They were designed as an urban street tire. I had these on my speed triple. They look super wicked, but didn't do so well up in the hills. Great around town tire. They lasted me for along time. I think I got about 8k out of the back.

Good review here between the Dunlops and Pirelli Sync's. I have the Sync's and love them but am interested in the d616 as well.

They're as aggressive as you're going to get with the 17" hoops. I've worn out more than a few sets on my Multi doing everything from dragging pegs to mud. And for the price (versus brand P) they are tough to beat. For whatever reason, Dunlop reco's really high pressures which make them handle funny and wear out much faster. 30-31psi front and 33-35psi rear seem to give best handling and tread life.

A few years ago, Catterson from Motorcyclist magazine tricked out a Hyper, and he seemed to like the D616's.
