Terblanche to Norton? What happened to Moto Guzzi

The man who gave us the Hyper is hopping around from company to company these days. He was just with Moto Guzzi last year, now he's with Norton...

News - Local News: Castle Donington, Kegworth and around DE74 (DE74)

pierre was working for piaggio doing concept designs for moto guzzi. his three awesome guzzi concept bikes that showed at eicma were the show hits .. but guzzi decided not to go into production with them ... that is until pierre advised piaggio that he was accepting the design position @ norton. pierre also gave moto guzzi one additional concept design prior to leaving ... which also might see the light of production.

now on to norton ... pierre's good friend and colleague from ducati days, dan van epps (who worked with pierre taking pierre's designs and "productizing them" into production bikes) started working for norton about 5 months ago as CEO of norton north america. so now that pierre is head of design, we will see some very cool bikes coming out of norton ... ones that should get a LOT of attention, as pierre's designs are more polarizing than most/any other current bike designer ... you either love or hate his bikes ... which is what norton and the motorcycle community needs.

btw, pierre is here in the bay area on vacation this week, after attending CES in vegas last week.

ciao,
johnc

Will he still be around Saturday ?
We could take him out for a ride to Alice, lunch, or just a cup of coffee locally?

Also talking about Norton, are you guys watching Cafe Racer on TV ?
It's pretty cool designs sometimes.

Now let me say I first I love my Hyper, and my old 749S wasn't bad either. I tolerated the hideous looks of my Multi 1000 because it was such a good bike. Pierre's Moto Guzzi designs were why over stylized, not my cup of motorcycle and even if they go into production (10-20 units they sell a year) who cares.

Wish him luck at Norton
