Great bikes, a little pricey to repair at the dealership, not everyones style, but for what they are, great bikes!

Wouldnt be my 1st choice for a 2nd bike.

Looking at a 2nd bike for a multi-usage but mainly tarmac, I would go for a Multi 1200.
A 2nd bike for a multi-usage with a little bit more offraod and dirt capability, I would definitly look for something way lighter than a GS 1200, maybe like the new Yamaha XT 660

I'm not sure what your first bike is, and what kind of rides you have in mind, but both bikes are excellent. For short stuff, it's tough to beat the grin factor of the Hyper. For versatility and longer journeys, the GS has few peers. There are reasons it is the biggest selling bike on the continent, and is even the #1 volume bike in Italy (by far).

A gs 1200 and Multi 1200 "Are Not DIRT BIKES" They are Adventure Bikes; Big difference.

Just flip-flop the two; GS as your only bike, and the Hyper as a great second choice.

Been there, done that, but you have to be comfy with the largeness of the GS for it to work.

i guess i'm in the minority. i didn't like the gs. first gear is way to high and unchangeable with the shaft drive. the high first gear makes the under powered pig seem even worse. i'm sorry but i just don't like it's cool aid.

I agree, but I would take a hard look at the new Yamaha Super Tenere for a nice price point. I think that bike has been selling in Europe for a while and the reviews are pretty good. Yami makes great stuff!

Out!
