performance vs comfort seat
Whats up guys and gals. I want a new seat and I am looking at the comfort or performance seat. Hoping someone has experience with either one or if I am lucky has used both and has any advice. Thanks for the help R.J.

get the performance seat. one of the best mods for a hypertard ... makes the bike feel much more comfortable on longer rides, and provides lots of grip when needed for faster riding.

just make your own like i did. its wider and lower .feels much better on long rides and looks ten times better. needs some 50grt sand paper and bread knife and staple gun and your good to go. took about two to three hours to finish

add some foam and sand the edges to make it look good, or get gel padded bike shorts ,easy and cost affective

I also modified my seat... then felt it needed more padding (plus more leg room). I bought a $20 thick neoprene exercise mat (Nordic Trac brand at Sears) and cut a shape that would cover the WHOLE seat - except the last 6" at the nose... it got too thick to fit under the tank. I trimmed and beveled the edges as much as possible and then replaced the stock cover, which is tough, but with a little muscle it's do-able - the cover stretches quite a bit!
The seat is a little "fatter" and taller (which is good), and the neoprene is soft yet firm enough to add nice a "spring" to the feel without bottoming out!

This is speaking from experiance. The Ducati "comfort" seat is anything but comfortable. Its better than the stock seat but I also ride a 998, MV Agusta F4, and a 1198S and those are more comfortable in the seat area than my Hyper for long rider (3+ hours). I have tried the padded bicycle shorts and it helps a little but still...
