Is it possible to lower SP several inches??
Hi,
I'm fascinated by the White SP version. But I'm only 5'4" and the listed seat height of 34.4 is impossible. I know I can drop an inch with a lower seat, but I will probably need to drop at least 2 more inches. Is it possible to lower the bike that much without messing up the handling. I've been searching the forum but haven't seen anyone needing to drop this much height. I know I should just look at a shorter bike but I can't seem to get past the White Sp.
Thanks for any advice.

I'm no expert so maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you can raise the front forks some in the triple. The SP should have an adjustable rear link. Add the lower seat and you may get 2 or 3 inches. Also the handle bars will raise when you adjust the forks, maybe you could find a lowered aftermarket handle bar clamp. If you do raise the forks in the triple trees the bike could become a little twitchy, maybe a good steering damper would help. Like I said I'm no expert just trying to think of a solution for you. You should definitely talk to a qualified person before going with this option. Hopefully one of these more experienced Duc riders will chime in, good luck. I'm a firm believer in if there is a will there is a way.

Hi, I have lowered my Hyper SP, rear damper must be replaced and the curb in front needs to be modified. I can measure the height from ground to seat tomorrow.
The problem is the side stand, Hyper can overturn more easily now. The side stand is too long

Thanks for the info. I'm not as worried about modifying the side stand as I am the bike so that is good. Does the bike handle well after you lowered it?

It would be best and easiest to simply trade (straight across) my 08 for your sp.
Everyone would be happy!

Maybe have the dealer trade Evo bodywork for Evo SP bodywork.
They did it for the 2008-2010s.
Otherwise, it's kind of like ordering a cheeseburger and insisting on them "holding the cheese".

That is a good idea.
