building a complete custom hypermotard
Hey guys
i would like to introduce myself. my name is sami and i am an owner of 2008 hypermotard.
my vision is making the bike light, flashy (already had many blacked out bikes), and much more of a supermoto.I own and race two aprilia sxv550 but looking for a street bike for me .
I want to build a custom bike, i have already tore down the bike to bare frame. below is the list of the mods
a-power coating
1- frame, subframe (candy red)
2- wheel (gold )
3- swingarm, triple tree, rear suspension (glossy black)
4- engine ( glossy black ) if i find a safe way to do it
b-anodizing
1- forks (candy red)
2- bolts (candy red)
c-exhaust
Termignoni Exhaust with shorten exhaust
d-rearset
woodcraft
e-bodywork
That is where i NEED HELP
1- tank (is there a way to made a smaller tank that does not extand to the subframe ??
2- should i use the CRF450 side panel
3- what headlight set up you guys like the most ( i like the hypermotard headlight but looking for somthing different
if you have any suggestion please let me know, i will post pictures as we go with the build

Smaller tank Actually, if you start a petition and get these guys and gals all worked up, maybe Chris from CA Cycle works will make you a smaller tank.
Check out this one NEW MID-SIZED Hyper gas tank!! (part II)

Awe, you know that's not how it was done.....
Alex (08Hyper) worked real hard to have that tank happen. I won't get into the specifics (this site is rated PG-13, for family enjoyment), but it involved a few dinners (and Breakfasts ) in San Diego.

Why would you spend all that money on bling when the suspension needs reworked and the transmision is shit.
I have spent thousands on my 08 hyper s only to find the selector fork spring has come apart for the second time and has been munched into little pieces and been playing what can we f#$K up now.
I am on the fence now until the dealer sorts it out , ie new motor or bike.
If that doesnt happen its court time and look else where.
I hope the evo models fear a better fate
If I hadnt changed my oil between ducati service periods my bike would of ground to a halt who knows where
This is the third 08 hyper that has needed its cases split from our dealer
Enjoy your 08 hyper, no offence Alex
