1098 Compatibility parts ?

Few questions regarding what parts I could eventually add to the bike...

I'm looking at 7 spoke wheels from the 1198.
I know the rear axle is not the same diameter (55mm vs 46mm), but would the eccentric hub from a 1098-1198 fit our swimgarm ?

Fork...
I cant justify the super expensive cartridges. It just kills me to see Ducshop is charging nearly 1500$ while the new 30mm for superbike are around 1k...
So, anyway to swap the whole fork + clamp for a Ohlins SBK setup ?

I'd also be interested if someone has done a fork swap.. I think I remember hearing about GSXR forks on either a sport classic or a monster...

unless you want to lower the whole bike, using a 1198 fork set up will not work all the great due to them having about 45mm less travel. I do agree with you that the cartridge kit is expensive as hell..... but there are more options over the ohlins.... some are a little cheaper. They are all going to be expensive now though because they are in demand. While working at a ducati dealer, i saw this trend all the time..... in a year or so when something newer and "cooler" comes out, the aftermarket prices for everything hypermotard will drop.
