1098 Closer Shims Now Available

Ducati changed the designed of the closer shim on the 1098 slightly from the previous design used on the 851, 888, 916, 996, 998, 748, 749, 999, ST4, ST3, S4 Monster, and the 2V DS 1000 motor. The ID of the shim is the same but the position of the chamfer on the OD has been moved toward the bottom of the shim. The reason for this is to obtain clearance with the adjacent cam lobe. The attached pic shows some old closer shims compared with the new 1098 closers.

I now have the 1098 closer shims in stock individually. I am currently gathering information as to the range of sizes typically needed for the 1098 to evenutally offer complete shim kits. The sizes currently in stock are from 2.50 mm through 4.15 mm.

The opener shims for the 1098 have not changed in design from the older 4V ones.
