4V Adjustment Clearance Calculations Download

I have come up with a Calc sheet to help in doing the 4V adjustments. I include the Calc sheet in the 4V organizer. I am offering it here as a download.

The question comes up concerning buying an entire shim kit or just individual shims as you need them. Both methods work for doing your valve adjustment. Obviously, having a complete kit is better since everything u need is right there. But if you are on a tight budget, you can calculate your shim size and then get them as you need them. It takes more time to complete your valve adjustment this way, but if you have the patience and the time, it can work for you. The only downside I see is that sometimes you measure and calculate the shim size and after you get it in its just not quite to spec. You can always sand the shims down using 300 grit paper on a flat surface. If you need a larger shim you are out of luck and need another shim.
