How To: Throttle Meister "custom install" S2R1000 w/ Pics

I recently posted an inquiry to see if anyone had any experiance with the Throttle Meister (here is the link to the original thread) http://www.ducatimonster.org/smf/ind...955#msg1289955

after gathering some info and exchanging emails and a few phone calls with the guys over at Throttle Meister http://www.throttlemeister.com/ I had come to the conclusion that if I wanted to try this product I would have to do some permanant modification to my handlebars as they had nothing that would fit the inner diameter (ID) which was 14mm. I took Capt Baz's advise and decided to drill out the handlebars ends to accomodate the new barends ie; Throttle Meister, long story short everything went smoothly and while I havent had a chance to try them while riding as it has been snowing here they do appear to work perfectly and look very nice to boot.

these are most of the items you will need

picture of the stock bar end

stock bar end removed

even though you dont need to on an S2R1000 I rolled back the grip per the instructions to expose the throttle tube

they want you to use this little black plastic piece, it is supposed to go over the throttle tube and under the grip, all it does is give the actual throttle lock a place to lock against, due to the design of the stock throttle tube this piece does not need to be used so I didnt but here are some pics, if you look closely you can see why it might be used in some applications.

and again

one more time

I used a 5/8 drill to open up the end of the handle bar, I didnt measure the depth but its approx two inches, and it goes pretty quick.

after that just slide it in, adjust it per the instuctions ie; push it all the way in and tighten it and thats it.

repeat for the other side.

hope this helps others who are interested.

and I will post up the first chance I get after field testing err I mean road testing them.
