749/999 EOBD light error codes
The 749/999 EOBD dash light illuminates when there are certain electrical errors, errors in the injection system and errors in the ignition system. It will also light up if engine temp is greater than 124 degrees Celsius (255.2 degrees Fahrenheit). Additionally, if the EOBD light lights up together with the 'CODE' symbol on the LCD, the ECU is in the 'block engine' state.
If the EOBD light has illuminated because of an error, to troubleshoot the problem, you can retrieve the error code/s generated as follows...
While holding down the left hand dash button, turn the ignition on. Keep the button held down throughout the 'start up' dash sequence, then any stored error code/s will be displayed on the LCD. The error codes will be displayed as "EFl Error". At the same time, the error code number will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If there is more than one stored error code, the display will scroll through them automatically.

So... anyone ever had the light come on, but the left-dash-panel-button trick doesn't bring up any error codes? The battery was really low, and the light only comes on when I stop and let it idle for a second... the charger is on it now, so, that is probably the problem... still, I'd love to know what I am doing wrong as this is a great diagnostic tool.

I discovered that if my bike was in neutral at stop, no light, in gear (after a few moments) light on. Realised it was the fact that the micro-switch on the Clutch leaver was not being activated due to the fact it required the leaver to be pulled all the way to the grip which i wasn't doing. Maybe this could be the issue.

I've already shimmed the brake lever for a similar problem - I'll examine this when I get back from church. Thanks again.

Reset code?
I got the speed sensor fault code while loading my bike onto the trailer. Any idea of how to reset this code to see if it was just a fault? The ducati dealer can't even get me in to read the code and clear it for 3 weeks. Any help would be great!! Thanks!!
