So I ordered me one of those newfangled sport skinz seat covers from sargent, my seat had some little rips in it so why not.
Here is the tools that I assembled to do the job. i have a mallet and ratchet extension because i had to use this to tap the staples in, the guy at sargent said i should use an industrial stapler (like a pneumatic one) so i went the cheap route and got a hand stapler that said heavy duty on it
This is the state of things after i realized i should be taking pics to help anyone else who would be having as hard a time as me!

the cover is partially on and i have duct tape covering the small rips cause i am a lazy ass and didnt want to take off the old one and mess with the plastic sheet that comes with the package as a moisture barrier.
I tried to start with a staple on the front and back like it says in the directions but it is a PITA trying to staple into the foam strip on the front so I abandoned that idea and ripped the strip off in frustration (then removed staples holding said foam) as seen here.
When the package arrived i noted the odd bits up at the front of the seat, and the instructions say to turn the seat cover inside out.. which i guess means.. leave it like this. until the time comes to flip it over the front of course.
The best way i found to start out was to gain a foothold in the rear section with a few staples on either side of the latch.(dont worry it will latch just fine with the extra fabric in that area)
From there just alternate stretching the cover over the sides and stapling, this is me tapping home one of the staples after setting it.
After a little while I made my way up the sides toward the front, and this is what that looked like.
As it says in the instructions be sure to flip it over periodically to make sure everything is tight and lining up.
Ok so everything is going good with the exception of my thumbs hurting, but once i get to this point i start to worry a little.
As I am stapling these corners are starting to look like crap.
So after removing a few staples and coaxing it in the direction i want it it starts to look better. checking the alignment again.
I got that inside out portion at the front flipped down and stapled to my satisfaction, and im glad im done cause any longer and i would have just rushed the end and screwed it up
Here we have a finished Sargent seat cover.
And some beauty shots of my bike to round it all out
total cost 110 big ones!
