Riding shoes or short boots

I be at the Austin MotoGP in April.

Looking for recommendation for a short boot/shoe that's reasonable to walk around in during the event.

Reasonable protection would be nice.

Bought these and love them. Don't let the image scare you, the color is much more of a mat flat dark/grey black. The picture kinda freaked me out, but the actually product is very cool. You can wear them all day with no issues and if you wear orthotics like I do, the will fit with no issues. check the link

I like everything but the price. I see they get good reviews. I wanted shin protection since I have some kickstart bikes and have been bitten before. I bought some Aermoto boots that zip up. I wear boot socks so they don't chafe my legs when I walk. Not comfortable enough ? I actually forget I'm wearing them even walking around swap meets so they're not bad in that respect. They are a " bargain brand "but the quality is really good and I've had them over a year with no complaints. They look like a cycle boot though, not a hiking boot.

They have tents where they valet all your riding gear.

So you can bring Tennys or whatever your shoe choice

I get the check-in service, saw it on previous trips. I was planning to buy short boots/shoes for around town riding at home so I'd kill two birds...

I like the boot you suggested Sacramento, but never owned riding boots with laces. Well that's not true, we used to wear (very) high top lace-up boots in the dirt (early 70's) before technical boots showed up.

My hiking boots can come untied even though double tied so ?? Maybe it's me...

Waterproof shoes

I just bought a pair of these. They are waterproof so I often wear them in the rain to walk around. Laces can be tucked in and out of the way.

I have a pair of TCX Jupiter boots. They are short and comfortable. Durable...going on three seasons. Walking in them is comfortable too. They have a stiff sole plate for a day on the pegs but it doesn't really interfere with walking.

I wore my Daytona's around Spa last summer... don't do that. (ended up having to walk back to the bike and dig out my street shoes)

Those look great. My advice to anyone, is just get those ankle bones covered up. Especially if your skinny and you ankle bones stick out an inch or two

I am going to Moto Liberty tomorrow, to see what they offer. I'm fortunate they're 10 miles away.

https://www.motoliberty.com/

I like to see everything in the flesh when I can, so to speak. Living in Texas and knowing the hot days ahead keeps me from pulling the trigger on a waterproof boot. Cold weather I have my Daytona's.

I would encourage anyone, who has experience on the subject, to post. A search on the subject didn't offer much and this might be a good repository of info for others.
