Dainese Jackets - Sizing Good, or Snug?

I'm looking at a Dainese leather sport jacket in size 56. Their sizing guide says that size would fit 110 to 114cm, or 43 to 45 inches in the chest. My chest is 112cm/44" relaxed, and just over 115cm/45" breathing inhaled. Does anybody that owns/has owned a Dainese care to comment on their experience with the fit? The jacket would be used, so no returns!

Second jacket I'm looking at is Alpinestars in 56

Go tighter because leather jackets stretches as it breaks in. So, if it's already broken in, it'll fit looser than a new jacket.

You should also look into to back and/or chest protector. Not only does it increase safety but it'll take some slack out

I've found that the old Dainese jackets have been very snug and their recent offerings have relaxed a bit. I mean that if I get something in my range, I should be able to get a back protector in and be totally comfortable.

Depends on the jacket model as well. Some models are race fit, sport fit, or relax fit. Totally depends

I have a couple of them and I prefer the leather perf Avro to be snug/race fit, but they do vary as mentioned earlier. If you know the name of the jacket, run a google search on it. Chances are Revzilla has done a thorough breakdown video of the coat already along with buyer reviews on sizing.

If it's fairly new it might have the Mugello fabric in non-impact zones, and that stuff is stretchy material. Honestly I think it's a crap shoot trying to buy an Italian Dainese jacket without a refund in place in light of all the variables.

I have a couple of newer Dainese textile jackets and while the chest measurement is pretty close to their chart, the fit seems to be more trim, especially in the gut area. RevZilla offers free replacement if you order the wrong size.

"If your order arrives and it is not right, we will fix it, NO NONSENSE, we promise.
Doesn't fit or just not happy with it? You can return any new, unused and unaltered item within 30 days of delivery of your item. We will issue a full refund to your original payment method."

This one feature is what makes them my go to source for riding gear.

I've gone through the same process as the OP as not everyone can shell out the near $600 entry fee for Dainese leather jacket.

Found out the jacket I was looking at had been "resized"...actually taken in at a leather shop, so it was no longer a 'true' 56. Ah well!

Dainese Jackets - Sizing Good, or Snug?

I'm a size 56 as well. I have a Razon that I absolutely love. I had been thinking about getting rid of it but then, I keep holding on to it. I've gotten a little porkier so it's a bit restrictive with the winter liner in. I'm 6' 228 LBS. I range from 235 to 218 throughout the year depending on how much donuts and snickers I eat.
