leather race jacket vs non leather race jacket

Ok so I have my eye set on a Puma Dianese Jacket. It's leather and non perforated. I live in NY. My question is how much am I gonna sweat in the summer? Do I need a leather jacket or is something like a Joe Rocket Ballistic Jacket? Yes the leather looks so cool but I remember it being so hot one summer i couldn't picture a heavier jacket. I'm not going to race the bike a 749 dark, I just want to ride. What does everyone think? Do I need leather? Does the leather make that much more of a difference in an accident over a padded non leather, and is there a less known less expensive jacket just as good?

The bike shouts out for perforated leather. You're not riding a KLR there bro. Or, just wear the non perf without the liner. Get a Dainese, you'll love it.
