Anyone have experience with Fieldsheer Titanium Air 3 pants?

After a lot of research on some good, protective 3-season pants that sound like they handle heat well, I pulled the trigger on a closeout deal on these I found in my size. I'm hoping I like them as well as my Fieldsheer Mercury 2s, which I absolutely love, but find too toasty much above 55 degrees. Can anyone with experience with these answer the following:

Do they fit true to size like my Mercs do, and like I do with the Mercs, can they be worn as overpants? (I commute and love to just pull them off\on rather than changing in the bathroom).

Can they handle Texas heat, even as an overpant?

At $70, they blow away any thing else I've see in terms of features - ballistic nylon, adjustable CE knee armor and CE hip armor. I really like that extra confidence my Mercs give me over my kevlar jeans, but in Austin it's only cool enough for them maybe only 10-15% of the year. I really want that extra piece of mind all year 'round.

Dude field sheer is very starter oriented. You are better off getting some rev-it mistral pants or dropping down to an Olympia brand. Both are better quality, specially the rev-it line. You can find occasional good deals on closeout items on eBay or even used worn ones or twice if you don't mind. The quality and resell value is much better. Just my 0.02 cents...
