Alternatives to AGV GP Tech
I love my GP Tech, but would like to try some comparable helmets.. What else out there is good from Suomy, Arai, Vemar? Aesthetically I'm growing out of the wannabe Rossi phase, and the GP Tech isn't offered in any plain colors really. I wouldn't let this sway me completely, but I'd like to see what else is out there this time around. I was told my head shape (long and narrow) fits well in the Arai Profile (now Signet).

This isn't going to answer your question but might be an alternative. I've owned everything from Simpson to Arai to Bell to Vemar to Suomy, etc. Recently I bought a Akuma CF helmet. AMAZING! The helmet is so light I don't know if I can ever go back to a "regular" helmet. There are two issues with my particular helmet: 1. I don't like the chin strap fastener and 2. It fogs easily. So, if a CF helmet does appeal to you, you might want to shop around for different brands. But the CF and the $399 price works for me. I can live with the other stuff. Oh yeah, it comes with a photo-chromatic shield that works very nicely.

I am really liking the Shoei X12 and the previous models never fit me right.

What about the AGV Grid? Many of the same features but a bit less money and only 1 Rossi graphic which happens to be the old Sun/Moon from back in the day. I'm thinking about getting a Grid but want to know more about the helmet and it's good to know you like the GP-Tech.

The Grid does look pretty cool, would be interested in any first hand reviews as well.

Some AGV reviews state that they are "intermediate oval" but I don't believe that's the case for all models. Recently I visited my local Dainese shop then tried on a GP Tech and it fit pretty well in XS even though I have always worn a small(Arai Vector 2, & Suomy sizes up to med). The Grid felt like a different shape and so did the Ti Tech for my intermediate oval head. I don't think AGV's work well on my head so I def recommend trying them on prior...
