Good Mixed Season Gloves for Mostly Street

Needing advice on a good set of gloves mostly for street use. I have a "summer" set of gloves and would like a little more heavy duty glove for fall weather with good protection. I don't need a racing type glove. Budget 100-150. Have been looking at A* Sp2 and Dianese Carbon Cover.

Am I headed in the right direction?

If you were to fill out your profile so we could get an idea of what you mean by "fall" weather, we could give better advice.

I think any of the gloves you mention would be ok.
Might consider getting something WITHOUT venting for the 45 deg. weather.
Maybe a waterproof glove of some sort?

Just yesterday I was at a shop and tried on some SP2s. Very nice glove. I'm not sure how long they would be good for at 45 degrees though. Cold on a bike is really time dependent. They might be great for 30 minutes but after an hour or so at 45 I think I would need more insulation.

You will need multiple weight gloves or get a good quality waterproof over glove for your lighter weight pair. Then you can use them for the entire temp. range as well as rain.

I use under armour running gloves. I think they are silk and very thin. Cheaper option would be to get the held under glove also in silk.
I have 2 pairs of glove, held air stream and rev'it jerez. The held is a summer glove and the jerez can be used on cooler days. It helps a lot, but is a tighter fit. Seems to be OK for about 20min ride. But haven't tried it out on longer rides.
