BMW Atlantis suit

I bought this outfit in February after reading everything I could and asking about it all over.
My aim was to have an all weather riding suit so I wouldn't have to carry wet weather gear. On a Streetfighter luggage room is pretty much non existant.

In it's defence it is easily the most comfortable riding gear I have owned.
The armour is also awesome and comprehensive.

On the con side - the pants leaked. Right in the crotch.

I complained to the dealer - Procycles St Peters in Sydney - only to be told they are really only water resistant, not water proof.
Now due to the price of this outfit - $2200 - my expectations were understandably high. All their advertising states that you will not need any other rain gear to stay dry if wearing the Atlantis.
Anyhow after two weeks I insisted an answer be given about the warranty on the pants. They made a fuss about giving me a new set of pants to wear on the trip to the Phillip Island MotoGP.
For once we had no rain on this trip, but last weekend on another trip it rained, revealing a serious leak on the left knee.
I returned them to Procycles on Monday.
Wednesday the accessories bloke rang to say BMW Australia had rejected the claim saying the outfit was never meant to be fully waterproof. Just resistant.
After quite a heated discussion pointing out the description of this suit on their own website, and mentioning the Department of Fair Trading, an offer to refund the price of the suit was made.

My purpose in dragging this onto a public forum is to warn others about the properties of the Atlantis suit. It is not waterproof and it seems BMW will not guarantee that it will keep you dry.
I wish I had been able to find info like this when I was researching the thing.

Here's what a US seller says about the Atlantis:

"BMW Atlantis Suit

The unique Atlantis suit from BMW gives you the best of both worlds -- waterproof leather is safe and dry for several hours on the road. To make it absolutely waterproof and windproof, add the optional Gore-Tex liner.

Features include: Two-piece suit made of high-grade, waterproofed cowhide, removable CE armor, separate Gore-Tex liner, reflective material for visibility, high collar for windproof nexk protection, two inside and two outside pockets, expanding pleats for fit and comfort. Men's and women's sizes are available.

Atlantis jacket - $650

Atlantis pants - $499"

I love it! $2200 in Sydney 1149 in the states. If there was 150 bucks difference i'd support the aussie seller but that is ridiculous!. If that leaked on me i would have had it back to the dealer as well. They shouldn't say waterproof when it is clearly not.
