Leather Pants too tight
I have some Dainese Firefly leather pants that I picked up next to nothing. It is quite tight, but I can get them on and have them buttoned up. I'm wondering what I can do to get them a bit looser. I've gone on a few long'ish (few hours) rides with them on and it's alright. But I really do need them to give a little more. The tightness is both in the waist and the thighs. I can get some other pants, but I'm sure that I can get these puppies to stretch a touch more. The Dainese specialist I was talking to last month said that these leather pants stretch quite a bit.

LOL! I don't know what I was thinking. But still, I know other people might have the same problems; I'll take the hit. I am a fat tub of lard, but I am also muscular with powerful thighs. Damn, this is sounding like my dating site profile. Haha I'm doing tons of squats and deadlifts and my legs are just not getting any smaller.
edit: Spitfire, how funny would it be if I wore these to the gym and start working out in them. Hell, I think that a trip to the sauna would be good for this too... LOL.

Whoa!! At no point did I endorse wearing them to the gym! Lol
Maybe go for a ride in the rain and getting them wet would help break them in a bit

Get leather conditioner and slather them up, then wear them and get em stretched out really good (around the house only). You can also take them to a seamstress and have them worked over for a reasonable fee without losing your original savings from purchase.

DT996,
Yes, I did condition them and wore them throughout the day and for a ride. They're still tight. I think I'll just get rid of them and get myself a pair that fits. It works, but getting the feet back on the pegs just isn't that comfortable. I mean, I can ride, but I'd rather have free movement. This can get dangerous in the wrong circumstances. Well, D-Skin SF Pelle pants, here I come!

I have an older Dainese suit that fit perfectly in height and in my legs but was tight around my gut and chest. I tried leather conditioners, stretching in it and even got it damp and rode with it. All that worked just a little little bit but not enough so figuring I had nothing to loose:
I took two 2x4 boards about a 1 1/2 feet long and rounded the edges off and mounted them to a small scissor type car jack. I wrapped the boards with some old towels to give it some padding and inserted the jack with the boards into the suit and zipped it up. I situated it so that when I expanded the jack it would stretch the sides of the suit and I could expand the jack through the neck opening. The boards ran from the top of the hips to just under each arm. At first I was very easy with the stretching and watched each seam and the zipper but towards the end I wet the suit down and fully extended the jack and stretched the crap out of it. Let that hang in the garage for a week and dry. Now I can fit a back protector and my fat gut in there with no problem!
Needless to say my wife saw this thinks I am crazy. She said the same thing, "Why don't you just lose some weight"?
