Building a rear stand
So I'm considering building a rear stand for my 2011 Monster 796 for four reasons:
1. Affordability- looking at the raw materials cost for the bar stock and a pit bull pin it should put me around $70.
2. I just found out I have a buddy with a full machine shop and a lot o welding experience.
Tres. That's Spanish for 3.
4. And the last reason I'm bored and there are some beautiful rear stands out there but I can't justify $250+ for them and no store sells a rear stand locally in Orlando.
So what I'm asking is if anyone has a Pitbull, T-Rex, Black Widow rear stand etc etc and could lift up the bike and tell me
A. How high it lifts the rear wheel off the ground
B. give me the distance from the pin in the center of the rear axle to the ground
C. And finally if it looks like there are bearings in the sleeve the pin fits into and if it is allowed to spin as you lift the bike I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
