Awesome way to clean bikes

Sorry if this is old news to some... it was a big revelation to me.

After years of experiments and more or less successful washing products & techniques, recently I had settled into:

- Hose her down
- Bucket with warm water and quality car/bike soap, wash a section at the time with lots of suds
- Rinse her off
- Quick drying pass with chamois and microfiber towels
- Bring her into garage, use Blaster air dryer
- Apply plastic treatment to black plastic
- Apply Meguairs "Quick Bike Detail" (which is awesome) on fairings and other plastics
- Have a 64 calorie Beck's Light beer (hey, I am a bodybuilder, got to watch those carbs...).

Works well enough, but it takes forever. And now, I discovered this: Home page - Muc-OffUSA.com

Holy mother of crap, does it work or what? New procedure:

- Hose her down
- Spray a liberal amount of this all over the bike: Muc-OffUSA.com - Deltran Corp
- Rub a bit with a brush the nastiest grime
- Wait a couple of minutes
- Quick drying pass with chamois and microfiber towels
- Bring her into garage, use Blaster air dryer (this is now optional, but I still do it)
- Apply this everywhere EXCEPT for braking surfaces: Muc-OffUSA.com - Deltran Corp
- Remove excess with microfiber towel, let her dry
- Spend several minutes looking at the bike in disbelief as she looks CLEANER than when I picked her up from the dealer!

Really amazing stuff. The "bike spray," in particular, seemed really strange to me when I applied it. It goes on kind of oily - but as it dries it just makes the color shine and it feels great to the touch. Apparently, it also inhibits corrosion and leaves a protective coating on all parts. The best thing is that you apply everywhere except on brake parts.

Best of all, it takes me less than one third of the time it used to take me to wash a bike, and the results are much more exciting. Check out my Hyper - this is without any scrubbing or rubbing AT ALL:

Highly recommended!

I can't bring myself to use any of these "waterless" type cleaners. Why? Because I don't understand how one "dry" off the surfaces without having rinsed them prior to doing so. I don't doubt the end result though.

Apessino, your original cleaning regimen is similar to mine.

Nothing waterless about these products - I'd never use those either. Step one is still "hose her down" - the only difference is that instead of filling up the bucket with suds and then soaping up the bike by hand you just spray the cleaner on. The dirt dissolves as if by WITCHCRAFT! Makes a huge difference for those hard-to-reach spots on the engine, suspension, etc. plus it takes a fraction of the time.

The post-wash bike "finish" product is a different thing - it literally leaves a corrosion-inhibiting, water displacing, highly protecting coating on most surfaces (again, do not use on braking surfaces).

I have since washed two more bikes using the Muc Off stuff. Yup, still loving it...

F**k all that, spray on good brand of truck wash, wait, rinse off, microfibre wipe down or chamois. Then when dry, good old Mr Sheen on everything plastic or painted. Done

I think she should get 10 lashes for driving a motor vehicle and stoned to death for exposing her hair to unrelated males!
