Buyer Beware: Probolt USA

BUYER BEWARE!!!

Bought an 8mm clutch cable adjuster through Probolt USA's bike specific application process. Got the part and it was too small, called twice and sent 2 emails within noted 5 day time frame for returns, none were answered. Emailed Probolt corporate and finally got a response from David Cork of Probolt USA. After finding out I had already reordered and paid for the correct part and asking how I should go about a return of the useless unit David's email to me read, "give it to a buddy."

That's the thanks I get for noting their application manual was wrong, which they changed thanks to me! So to David Cork and Probolt USA

Did they credit you for one? Or did you pay for both? I'm guessing you had to pay for both?

I would say this was not over, unless you give up.
If it were purchased with a CC, then I would see about challenging them not taking back the incorrect part. You can always request a Return Authorization Number or whatever they use, to ship the wrong part back. Then challenge the CC charge if they refuse to reverse it. There is no reason you should pay for something they messed up on.

I've requested an RA on 6 occasions now, I'm done. I disputed the charge with my CC company yesterday who immediately refunded my monies. Probolt can deal with the bank now.

It won't work quite that way. If they decide to try and get the money back you'll hear from the CC company again. Dealing with this sort of crap is such a PIA. Thanks for the heads up on Probolt's customer service ethos.
