Shorai lightweight batteries

Anyone had any negative experience with Shorai batteries?
Got one from Motowheels and it lasted 5 months. Have emailed them and have had no reply. They are only distributors but a simple reply would have been nice. Expensive experiment I say at this point in time.

Sux the BIG one. Was going to buy one from MW earlier this year. Chickened out and got a Yuasa instead. Something tells me I made the best choice.

Please tell us when Shorai makes this right for you.

Cheers.

Off topic ->

By the way, I hope you're not flooded. I attempted a ride on the Motard to Yaramalong on Monday, water over the road almost knee depth, if not for the height of the Tardis, I would have been stranded, powered thru it flawlessly. Slow speed, clutch and revs. I was soaked head to toe however! I was amazed engine cope as well as it did, as it was partially under water. A good clean, compressed air dry and lube at home all good.
Just mentioning, no further comments needed. Hope not to change topic of batt discusion, since it's not relevant.

Going all "Ballistic" on ya'!

Try them. Made in USA (not China), better warranty. What's not to like?
Visit WebBikeWorld to read their comparo 'tween the two, then YOU decide.

Who did you send the email to and what day was it sent?

Matt was on vacation for the last week and this week. Ed is on vacation this week.

I can ask one of the guys to check their messages and get back to you.

Shorai replaced the last battery that we had a problem with. We have sold hundreds of them with only one other issue that I know of. They have been much more trouble free than the A123 based cylindrical batteries that we have sold in the past. The A123 based batteries burst when overstressed by overcharge or fully discharged. The Shorai have a fused link that will break and sacrifice the battery VS bleeding its hot guts allover the bike.

Thumbs up Shorai battery

I've had one now for about 5 months and so far, so good. It dosn't need a tender, and spins that 998 engine no problem.

Thinking of getting a second one for the Multi.

Is that fused link replaceable/accessible ?
Very happy with mine so far.
The R/R died a few months ago, the battery got me home just fine with no charge going in then charged up within 10 minutes on a 10 amp charger and has been good as gold since.

I've had mine for a while now and no problems at all. I'll keep an eye on it though. Hope you get it replaced soon.
