Any suggestions for full vent, hot weather summer boots?
I had some BMW airflow 3's but they didn't move much air at all...
I tend to do better with wider footbeds. For me, narrow=ouch.
I'm looking for major airflow - to use only during 80 degrees and up in the sticky northeast
Thnx

Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
The reverse side also has a reverse side.

Perforated boots would be the way to go. I own two pairs:
1 Sidi Vortice Air - perforated boot. Like it, BUT, despite the perforations and vents, it does not seem to let as much air in as Pair 2 and they are narrow, luckily I have narrow feet, they are also a bit fiddly to get on, but you get used to it and I can do it quite quickly now. All bits on these are replaceable.
2. Oxtar, now TCX, the equivalent to my model of boot is the TCX S-Race Air. The air flow in the ones I have is fantastic! They are also seem to be a wide fitment. I love these for summer, but I am really only a 41 and the pair I own are a 43, they were a gift, which is why I bought the Sidi's but they just don't allow as much air through. The only drawback with the TCX 2011 model is that they are white - can't know how you would feel about that . Mine are very easy to get on and off and are very light. Would thoroughly recommend. Five stars!!
I have worn mine in the rain and whilst they let the water in, instead of your foot sitting in a bath, as has happened with other non-perforated boots, the air dried the water out really quickly. I was happy, but it was a warm day.

Hmmmm, I might have to look into those. I really love my Oxtar boots, but they are pretty warm on hot weather. They are comfortable enough that I don't really mind them being warm, but one can never have enough nice boots.

Ive had a pair of Sidi Strada Air for s few years now. Love them. It's suppose to hit 100 here today and I'm glad I wore them to work. They are terrible in the winter as you would expect.

Thank you for the replies, The TCX race air look great but I do wish they came in black
I should have added that my riding is primarily street...
Is it the case that the TCX are typically a little wider than say, Sidi? I've heard this before and other my previous pair of Sidi Canyons, most Sidi boots are too narrow for me...
My fav everyday boot so far are my bmw allround boots fwiw... Just too hot for the humid, 85-95 degree Northeast US.

I wish they came in black too!! I don't think that it matters about the type of riding that you do, I like technology and protection. I still suffer from issues with my right ankle and that was more than 10 years ago. So now I like protection.
Yes, the TCX seem to be a wide fitting boot, the Sidi's I find are narrow. I watched a you tube review on the TCX air boot and even the commentator made mention of this, stating that it was a boot to suit those with a wider foot.

I have the Sidi Cobra's, the air version. They are *completely perforated* and very comfortable.
I've worn them on desert rides up to 120 deg. You never feel like your feet are hot or seating at all. I am super happy with these boots!
I also have a pair of ankle height Dainese Scarpa Dyno Shoes for city use. THe are very comfy and very easy to walk around in all day when you arrive at your destination. The are also largely mesh. They don't, however, breath quite as well as the Cobra's do. They do breath a LOT better than my ankle height Puma's though...
Cheers!

Thanks for the input! I think I tried on some cobras a while back and they were a little on the narrow side? Is that the case in your opinion?
I'm now in a new dilemma, I'm likely getting a second bike for adv. touring and wondering if I can find something perforated that I can use on the ps and a gs. Thinking the cobras might be a little on the "sport" side for an upright tourer
Probably doesn't exist and I'll have to get two pair of perf summer boots
Thanks for the input.
