A* New SMX Plus vs. Supertech R

I know they just came out, but does anyone have the new SMX Plus boots that could weigh in on whether i should get those or the Supertech R? A pair of Supertech R is only ~$80 more and i'm wondering if they're worth the extra money - my riding is mainly street but i hope to get to a couple track days/yr.
I've heard the Supertech's are INSANELY comfortable and one of my friends said he nearly wore through the sole b/c he'd wear them all day long. My friend also said they weren't that tough to get on either, comparable to a work boot.

Is that everyones feeling toward the Supertech's? Or would i be better saving the $80?

I have the SMX Plus boots, but have never tried the Supertech R's. I can attest that the SMX Plus are extremely comfortable. I used them at Jason Pridmore STAR School @ Chuckwalla Raceway. You can actually do squats in them, they're that compliant/comfortable. They're newer technology than the Supertech's so I suspect they're just as good. I love my pair...

The newer technology is kinda why i was curious...that with the updates the new SMX Plus may be real close to the supertech's.

Are the SMX Plus difficult to put on with the inner boot not removable? And being short it seems like it might be tough to get a grip on the booty.

No, they're very easy to put on. There's a tab on the tongue that you can grab, then you just pull and tighten the quick lacing system. There's a little velcro button to secure the tab on the laces too. You should try them on...

Do they squeak like the older version when you walk? And what about walking in them?

I'd def like to try both of them on...unfortunately i live in BFE and there isn't anyone around that stocks them so i kind-of have to just deal with whatever i buy. If they make an annoying squeak like the old ones i'll prob go with the supertech-r's. Its just about the same support tech so they prob squeak a lil too but its inside the outer leather.

can't comment on the R's but my +'s are very comfortable with the inner boot. It feels like you're wearing sneakers, amazing. They do squeak like crazy though.

^ You wanna talk squeaky? I had a pair of Vortices once... they were so chunky and squeaky that I had to get rid of them after barely using them. Ended up with Dainese Axials and haven't looked back.
