Need new helmet advice... - Ducati.ms

Here's my problem: I have a Suomy Vandal (Bayliss graphics in yellow) that I like just fine except the brow is lower than normal and obscures my vision when I'm in the "racer" position. It's virtually impossible to look up the road. This is my third season with it and I'm ready for a new lid. I've tried on an AGV Ago and liked it quite a bit. Haven't ridden with one though. I also have been quite impressed with the Shoei X-12 but it's pricey in graphic form. I was leaning toward the AGV because of price but am wondering if I should consider buying a white X-12 (less expensive) and personalizing it with helmet stickers and graphics. Just wondering if doing it that way would look good and hold up. Any opinions? TIA.

IMHO, I am not sure what helmet manufacturers mean by not using abrasive chemicals on helmets but that could be a downside to personalizing. Although I don't believe stickers would affect the clear coat much, I think a full on paint scheme could deteriorate the shell. Some members on here have done classy designs with some simple green and red line tape and retro Ducati decals. I think the Shoei would be a better fit. ***Did you try the AGV on for a short period of time. When I bought my AGV I wore it around the store for about 20-25 minutes because everyone said the ears would fit funny... Guess I have funny ears.

The green/red tape and retro stickers was exactly what I had in mind. I've tried both the AGV and the X-12 and both fit really well. Both were mediums. FWIW, I can get any helmet for cost plus 15% thanks to a dealership connection.
