Arai Helmets Falling Apart
My Arai helmets are falling apart. I just bought an RX-Q and the chin vent is broken after three rides. One of my other Arai helmet has a chin vent that fell off. Two of my helmets lost the black trim strip on the front of the helmet.
So I go to the Arai site to find out what to do and there is no way listed to get in touch with them. Their parts site is down. They tell you to leave your e-mail address and they'll get back to you when the site is running again.
Come on, Arai. You make expensive helmets. Some of that money should go toward taking care of your customers.

I have an arai, a shoei and 2 scorpions. My arai has the fewest miles on it (~5k), and has the most parts replaced.
It looks neat so I keep it around but build quality is crap compared to the other two companies.
My fav helmet currently is my Scorpion Exo1000, but its getting in need of replacement.
Im thinking AGV, Joe Rocket Carbon, or another Exo1000 next.

There was a campaign on the black chin strips falling off, Arai would repair it free, but of course, you had to ship it to them.
I have always been a strong advocate of Arai, but the last two I had also had build quality issues, and I recently bought a Carbon HJC which is easily the equal in over all quality to my RX7 Corsair. Im not saying the Arai's are crap, Im saying that HJC has significantly narrowed the gap.

Thanks, everyone! Very useful information.
The dealer has the helmet now so it's his problem. Still, I wish Aria's site was easier to navigate. I didn't know that you had to register your helmet before they would communicate with you.
I would look at other helmets but the Aria fits me so darn well.

This is basically what happened with my last two Arai helmets. In fact I had a shield blow off at speed. Never had that happen before or since. I've moved on to Suomy and may get a Shoei next or another Suomy. I'm done with Arai.

That's really too bad.. Arai has always been my favorite helmet way back to the Spencer replica back in the day.. Admittedly, I have found the Shoei's to be more to my liking aesthetically lately so I have not purchased a new Arai.. I guess I wont either until things turn around.

once you are in contact with them, you typically will get free repair minus the ship to them...my friend even got a free shield once...customer service can always be better (everywhere), but those bits shouldn't come off in the first place.
