Wink Exhaust - Performance, Sound and Protection

Hello all!

I'm the proud owner (3 weeks now) of a 2011 796 Monster with ABS. Chose the Ducati Corse "Logomania" and I absolutely love all aspects of this bike.

Having got over the initial cost of the bike, I'm entering Phase 1 of the: Lets totally customize this bike!

The problem I'm having now is with regards to the passenger. The stock pipes (and in particular the "covers") heat up so much that even after 30 min of riding should you come in contact with it then... well, you know the rest.

Obviously full leather gear prevents significant burning but even then the passenger is pretty much just sitting on 100°C of hot metal on a 35° summers day. Not nice. Untill I change exhaust (full carbon) I was contemplating Carbon Covers for the stock pipes to prevent too much heat from passing (especially if in kevlar jeans on shorter rides). Any of you have experience with these?

Something like this:

Ducati - Monster 696 - Ducati Monster 696 Carbon Fibre Exhaust Guard Set - World of QB Carbon - Carbon Fibre for Motorcycles

The next step for me is changing the exhausts. Currently contemplating three of them.

Vance & Hines CS One (Sound is spectacular... But maybe a bit too loud?)
Termis (Obvious choice, especially since the ECU will help on the low RPMs surging) and...
Mivv SUONOs. Beautiful, full carbon and sounds pretty aggressive.

Without getting into which one performs best etc I wanted to know if you could help me get an idea on how each one heats up and if you've had any problems with passengers?

I really appreciate it.

Take care.
