Arai Helmets - Suggestions???
So, the hard part is over - i've decided on a bike (M1100 Evo - I'll pick it up in May), so now I need to start picking up gear. I had a few Bell helmets, an HJC, and then an Arai helmet with my old bikes. I loved the Arai so much more than any of the others that I am pretty set on getting one this time around.
I went to a local shop yesterday and was checking out the newer lids. The Vector 2 seems pretty nice, and I like the graphics on the one below:

Obviously, Arai's are pretty pricey, so I am looking for some suggestions. I'm open to looking at previous lines, last year's models etc... Most importantly, I am looking for the best place online to buy from. Thanks in advance for your help.

They are making plain Jane version of that helmet that is reasonable price. seems any model with graphics is mucho dineros. Just google the model your looking for, with luck someone online will be having a sale. I do have this to say, sizing arai's varies with model and style. I'm a perfect medium in my Cz/m but medium is pretty tight on my Corsair, so you might want to try one on.

Yea each model is designed for a different head shape. I would start by visiting the Arai website.

+1 on arai models and sizing. They're all shaped different. I got a good deal a few years ago on a Corsair 7 at:

Don't buy an Arai online if your not familiar with the models/shell shapes and know what fits your head. Arai stopped selling online a few years ago for this very reason and I applaud them for that, but they had to relent and continue with online sales.

Decreasing Dave, good looking out. That place looks like it has every helmet Arai has ever produced.
Thanks - i'll let you know how I make out.

I have had the RX7 and Corsair Arai helmets, both are very nice. Have also had the Shoei X-11. Although Shoei was fine, Arai is better. You may even want to check out the Quantum line - very solid lid.
Folks are right though, you need to give them a try at the local shop first. Be sure of fit.

I've bought a good number of things from http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com (including my latest AGV GP Tech) and always had a good experience with them. They have some Arai helmets on sale now I believe.
+1 for the earlier comment on the Quantums.....my second helmet is an older Quantum F and I love it.
+1 also for making sure you try before you buy (no matter where you buy) to make sure sizing/fit is right for you
